The Bayer Leverkusen starlet Kai Havertz is of interest to a variety of clubs across Europe as its number continues to grow.
Chelsea is one of the leading candidates in the creative midfielder race. Blues head coach Frank Lampard is keen to revise his attack options before the 2020/21 season.
The West London team has already signed contracts to sign Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. Ben Chilwell and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho are said to remain on Lampard’s shopping list.
Havertz is also at the top of Chelsea’s transfer agenda. The Leverkusen star is one of the top rated prospects in European football.

Chelsea said how much it will cost to close the deal
Chelsea would be able to secure Havertz’s signature if they paid north of £ 90m.
According to Bayer Leverkusen’s boss Peter Bosz.

Havertz versus Hazard

Blues plans £ 75m Havertz bid
The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea has increased its interest in securing Havertz’s signature and is ready to bid a £ 75m bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge.

Bayer Leverkusen’s boss Fernando Carro has indicated that the German side could leave Havertz this summer.
In the midst of talking about moving to Chelsea with big bucks, Carro has said the player “wants to take the next step sometime in the near future” to advance his game.
“Many clubs are interested in him,” he told Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger (via metro). “I see the player’s desire to take the next step sometime in the near future.
“You have to respect that as much as the fact that he has a contract until 2022.”
Chelsea opens talks with Leverkusen about the Havertz deal
The Athletic has reported on the Express that Chelsea has begun discussions with Leverkusen to try to negotiate a deal for Havertz before the summer transfer window officially opens.
Speculation about Havertz’s future has increased in recent weeks, and interest in the German international emanating from Stamford Bridge has increased.
Blues boss Lampard is desperately interested in giving his midfield some creativity, and Havertz would certainly do just that.

Offers from Chelsea and Real Madrid
According to reports in Spain, Bayer Leverkusen has received two offers for Havertz.
One is an offer from Real Madrid of € 80 million (£ 72.3 million) and the other from Chelsea, which is said to be € 88 million (£ 79.6 million).

The Bundesliga season ended on Saturday afternoon and Bayer Leverkusen ended the season with a 1-0 home win over Mainz. Kevin Volland scored the only goal after only two minutes.
Although Leverkusen ended the season with three points, he missed securing Champions League football by two points due to Borussia Mönchengladbach’s win against Hertha Berlin.
That means that Leverkusen is reportedly now ready to let the midfielder go for a fee of almost £ 70m, as opposed to the £ 90m price they would have been charged if they had a top 4 result would have secured.
This is good news for Chelsea as they like to spend around £ 70m trying to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
