Inter Milan want to close a deal for Achraf Hakimi. What’s next for Victor Moses?

Recent rumors about Victor Moses portrayed a scenario in which Inter Milan did not have the finances to pursue a change for the Chelsea lender, but it seems that the Nerazzurri have actually been looking for a better-known commitment all the time.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano (for the Guardian), Inter actually laid the foundation stone for a change from Real Madrid’s Achraf Hakimi. The 21-year-old has grown by leaps and bounds on loan from Borussia Dortmund and is now considered one of the best right-backs in the world.

He has 9 goals and 10 assists in 44 games for BVB this season and although there are doubts about his defensive ability, his style of play would surely fit Antonio Contes wingback-oriented system.

Hakimi’s contract with Real Madrid expires in 2022, and although there have been reports that Real Madrid sees him in his long-term plans, it now seems like they’d like to let him go for $ 40 million plus add-ons (a bargain in everyone Market). The player has apparently already reached agreement on the terms of a 5-year contract with Inter Milan, and the Serie A club is just waiting to sign the contract with Real.

This is definitely not a good sign for Victor Moses. His long-term future in Antonio Conte’s project was already uncertain, and this seems to be the last nail in the coffin. Corriere dello Sport (via Semper Inter) shares similar news, claiming that the inter-top players feel that Moses doesn’t deserve a long-term contract because he hasn’t secured the starting spot and would rather invest in a starter-level caliber player .

However, Hakimi will not be able to play for Inter in any of the competitions this season. Therefore, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Semper Inter), Inter would like to hold on to Moses (and Alexis Sanchez) until the competitions of the current season. Moses’ loan at Inter expires on June 30 next week. Like Chelsea, Inter will play the remaining national games in July and the European games in August.

Furthermore, even if his loan is extended by a month or two, his future is uncertain. His contract with Chelsea expires in 2021, and while in such situations Chelsea usually extends the player’s contract before posting him for another loan assignment, Moses will be on the wrong side of 30 later that year. It is logical to assume that Chelsea will try to discharge him permanently, but whether Chelsea will be able to get the 12 million euros we seem to want is extremely doubtful.
