Indonesia officially announces the hosting of the 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup – Xinhua

JAKARTA, June 28 (Xinhua). The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has officially selected six of the ten potential sports stadiums on the shortlist for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup 2021 to be held in the country.

The six stadiums are located on the main island of Java, Sumatra and Bali, media reported on Sunday.

The selected stadiums were the Gelora Bung Karno in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, the Gelora Bung Tomo in the capital Surabaya in the province of East Java, the Si Jalak Harupat stadium in the Bandung district of the province of West Java and the Gelora Sriwijaya stadium in the capital Palembang in the province of South Sumatra and the Captain I Wayan Dipta stadium in the Gianyar district on the holiday island of Bali.

The U-20 World Cup is scheduled to take place from May 20 to June 12, 2021.

According to the PSSI, FIFA delegates will visit Indonesia in September or October to inspect the six stadiums.

“President Joko Widodo and several ministries have continued to fully support the success of this sporting event, which makes us proud,” said Yunus Nusi, Acting Secretary General of the PSSI on Saturday. End item
