Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke once again commented on a possible return from Jürgen Klopp to Borussia Dortmund.
“If Jürgen wants to come back to BVB, he can do it in whatever function,” said Watzke of the “Bild”.
The Dortmund club boss added with a wink: “But he could also train any club in the world, ultimately do any job, even in the show industry.”
Watzke tried to convince Klopp of a comeback in 2018. Ultimately, however, this did not happen, BVB signed Lucien Favre.
Klopp is “extremely ambitious, someone who has something to say, gets it across well and has a good plan. In addition, he has built a great team around himself,” said Watzke.
He praised the former BVB coach for the historic championship title with Liverpool, the first losing streak in 30 years. “He had to get the team around so that he was comfortable with it. He got a world-class goalkeeper (Alisson Becker, editor’s note) and for two years now you have the feeling that the team really is in this line-up is exceptional. “

Klopp is “one of the best coaches in the world, but there are a few others who will now try to fight back,” said Watzke.
The 61-year-old also spoke about setbacks in the successful career of his long-time companion. “He has surely marched through one or the other deeper valley when the question arose whether he could even win the really big titles. That was absolute nonsense.”
Klopp and Watzke had worked at BVB between 2008 and 2015. During this time, the district club won the German championship twice and the DFB Cup once. In addition, the black and yellow moved under Klopps direction 2013 in the final of the Champions League. However, this was lost in the London Wembley Stadium of all things against Bayern Munich.
With Liverpool, Klopp won the premier class last year. The Reds also triumphed in the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
