Football Bologna puts Sampdoria in deep trouble

June 28 (Reuters) – Bologna brought Sampdoria deeper into Serie A difficulties on Sunday when they brought Claudio Ranieri’s side a third 1-2 loss within eight days while Sassuolo was involved in another six-goal thriller, this time with 3: 3 against Verona.

Musa Barrow broke the deadlock for Bologna after a penalty in the 72nd minute and the Gambian prepared the second for Riccardo Orsolini with a mazy run on the left three minutes later.

Barrow then hit the post before Federico Bonazzoli scored a goal for Sampdoria two minutes before the end.

Sampdoria, who lost to Inter Milan and then AS Roma after the same result, dropped back to 17th place with 26 points, just one place and one point above the danger zone. Bologna is 11th

Substitute half-time player Jeremie Boga scored twice and Rogerio equalized in the seventh minute of stoppage time when Sassuolo battled 3-1 against Verona at home four days after Inter Milan’s goal.

Darko Lazovic gave Verona the lead in the 51st minute, Boga equalized two minutes later, but more goals from Mariusz Stepinski and Matteo Pessina gave Verona control.

In the 77th minute, however, Boga prevailed against Sassuolo and Rogerio hit with a shot from the post far into stoppage time to end another dramatic fight for the Neroverdi. (Written by Brian Homewood, editor of Pritha Sarkar)
