“On June 24, new tests of the Covid-19 were carried out on the players and the management of the first team. The assessment is 8 positive cases and 7 indeterminate results ” , said the Liga MX in a statement regarding the men’s team. In women, two outcomes are also unknown.

While the men’s team is currently preparing its preseason outside the Mexican capital, the club has decided to transfer its infected players to the capital “To keep them in solitary confinement”, clarified the Liga MX. The footballers tested positive are “Under observation”.

A recovery scheduled for early July

Competition is set to resume in early July in Mexico, after a four-month hiatus, with a closed-door friendly tournament between eight teams, the revenue from TV rights of which will go to the children of healthcare workers who died during the pandemic.
