Jarrell Miller’s co-promoter Dmitriy Salita is disappointed with “shocking” reports that the American heavyweight has failed another drug test.

Big Baby Miller was due to return to Jerry Forrest in Las Vegas next month after signing a new co-promotion contract with Top Rank. The New Yorker is now temporarily suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Salita is waiting for a final NSAC decision on Miller, who tested positive for banned substances last year before his canceled World Championship fight with Anthony Joshua.

In a statement, Salita said Sky Sports: “I am disappointed. I was looking forward to July 9th and Jarrell’s return to the ring. This news is also shocking for me.

“Hopefully we will find out more facts soon. As Bob Arum said, we will all be guided by the Nevada Athletic Commission decision.”

Miller will be replaced by a new opponent, confirmed Carl Moretti, Vice President of Boxing Operations at Top Rank.

“We are aware of the situation,” said Moretti Boxing scene.

“He will be temporarily suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Monday morning. We are currently working on a replacement for the main event on July 9th.”

The undefeated 31-year-old had targeted a fight with Tyson Fury to plunge back into the world title.

When asked about a fight with Fury, another top fighter, Miller said Sky Sports in April: “I think they talked about it after Fury fought Wilder again.

“I should be the co-main event for this fight. I should be the co-main event for the last fight.

“I think it will definitely be in the future.”
