Chelsea headlines in the evening when Barkley is greeted by Lampard’s Ben Chilwell Transfer Update

Here are the headlines for the Chelsea evening for Sunday June 28th.

Lampard: Barkley is a “big player” for Chelsea

According to manager Frank Lampard, Ross Barkley’s attitude has been “just right” since Chelsea returned to training.

The midfielder climbed off the bench and scored the only goal of the game in Leicester City’s 1-0 win to lead the club into the FA Cup semi-finals, where he faces Manchester United.

After the game, Lampard said: “He wants to be the best player he can be. Before the lockdown, it was really good for us.

“His attitude has been just right since we came back.

“He did something in every game. A good example. He can score, shoot with both feet.

“He’s a big player for us.”

Chilwell won’t be cheap for Chelsea

Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell was strongly linked to a move to Chelsea.

But the blues have to be careful when they’re chasing him, says Oliver Habbord, correspondent for London Chelsea.

He writes: “The debate among many Chelsea fans is whether the England international is really worth the expected fee or not.

“Leicester won’t let him go for a cheap fee if they have the cards to deal with the blues.

“It could cost Chelsea more than £ 50 million to get the 23-year-old this summer.”

Chilwell played Leicester against Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup for Leicester, while Emerson Palmieri started as a left-back for Frank Lampard.

Habbord adds, “Chelsea could potentially subsidize Chilwell’s costs by selling Emerson.”

Pulisic could emulate Salah and Sane, says Lampard

Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic may be able to contribute a similar number of goals from a wide range as Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, according to blues boss Frank Lampard.

However, this is only possible if the US international continues to be involved on the training grounds.

Before preparing for the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in Leicester City, Lampard said: “I think he can be a really big player.

“And when he wants to learn and do on the training ground how he sees the game and when he looks at the players he sees around him who have done this kind of hump like Raheem Sterlings, Sadio Manes and Mo. Salahs that now produce a number of [goals] from wide areas. “

The 21-year-old Pulisic has scored two games in Chelsea since the Premier League restart.
