Barcelona will activate Thomas Partey’s release clause this summer.
The Ghanaian midfielder would like to leave Atletico Madrid this summer, with Arsenal at the top of his list of admirers.
Yet new reports say that the Gunners have yet to make an official offer for the player, despite Mikel Arteta evaluating him very well.

Instead, Barca entered the race to sign it and could probably surprise the Gunners in the process.
Partey’s release clause amounts to £ 44.8 million and Barca is said to be more than willing to launch and unleash it if Arsenal postpones making an official offer for the player.

Wenger breaks down the president’s statements
Arsene Wenger has rejected the request to become the new president of Arsenal.
Last week it was announced that Sir Chips Keswick had retired after seven years at the helm of the club.
Artists like Martin Keown have responded by stating that Wenger would be the perfect answer to replace Keswick’s long service.
Yet Wenger gave the idea of a short detour.
“The candidate claims there is no candidate,” he joked when asked about the role.
