Arsenal misfit Matteo Guendouzi ‘is already in contact with Barcelona, PSG, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid’ as Mikel Arteta looks to sell midfielder after dropping him at Southampton over ‘internal issues’ days after he taunted Brighton players about wages

Matteo Guendouzi is speaking to a number of top European clubs about a move away from Arsenal this summer, according to French TV channel TF1.

The midfielder’s future was plunged into further uncertainty after manager Mikel Arteta confirmed he was axed for Thursday night’s win at Southampton due to ‘internal issues’.

And now it has emerged that leaving the Emirates is a real possibility for Guendouzi, who is said to be open to a fresh start elsewhere.

This week, Sportsmail revealed that Arteta was open to selling the Frenchman after he was caught grabbing Brighton striker Neal Maupay by the neck during Saturday’s defeat at the Amex Stadium.

The former Manchester City assistant has concerns about the 21-year-old’s attitude after discovering him doing ‘silly dances’ while watching training footage earlier in the season.

Sportsmail also revealed how Guendouzi spent the Brighton game making disparaging remarks towards opponents, including tasteless taunts about money.

But despite Arteta’s worries, the former Lorient starlet is said to have some of the continent’s biggest clubs chasing his signature.

TF1 claim that Guendouzi has been in contact with Barcelona, PSG, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid over a possible summer switch.

Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the France Under-21 star, who still has two years remaining on his contract.

When asked why he didn’t include Guendouzi at St Mary’s on Thursday night, Arteta said: ‘Squad management. Whatever internal issue we have, we deal with it privately.’

The Gunners boss also dropped the midfielder from his squad for a game against Newcastle earlier this season due to concerns over his attitude.
