Arizona Cardinals Shut Down Broad Receiver After DWI Arrest

Aaccording to Toledo, Ohio, television station affiliated with CBS WTOL 11, an orange Chevrolet Camaro left the slope and came to a stop in the lake, the Put-in-Bay, Ohio police service gathered witnesses at the scene .

Authorities received a call regarding the incident around 6:30 p.m. EST, with Braswell traveling at a seemingly high speed when he drove his car on the road. Braswell was along, off the road and in a grassy area, flying over the edge and into the lake, according to police records.

The officers approached Braswell, who remained in the driver’s seat and was still trying to drive the vehicle. Police said he was stuck and did not remember how his car ended up there.

Braswell had a rough speech and an inability to explain how he landed his car in the lake. After sobriety tests, Braswell was arrested for driving under the influence.

The Braswell breathalyzer test resulted in a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above the legal limit for the state of Ohio. He did not accept a chemical test that would check his blood alcohol level.

The Cardinals signed Braswell as an undrafted free agent on April 27. Four-year FCS letter player with Youngstown State, Braswell had a better career season for the Penguins in 2019.

As a senior, Braswell caught 24 passes for 515 yards (21.5 on average) and seven touchdowns – all career records – while starting in all 10 games. YSU went 6-6 in total and 2-6 against conference play in 2019.

During his career, he has recorded 51 receptions for 986 yards (average 19.3) and 11 touchdowns in 40 games between 2015 and 2019. Braswell started four of the eight games he played as a junior fourth year in 2018, making 20 catches for an average of 16.3) and two touchdowns.

In the second year of the third year in 2017, Braswell caught three passes for 73 yards (24.3 on average) and one touchdown in 10 games. His 2016 first-year red shirt season allowed him to record four receptions for 73 yards (average 18.3) and one touchdown in 12 games.
