The Bundesliga played successfully against Corona’s relegation – but at the expense of a missing person report. Without fans and without tension in the fight for the championship, difficult times could be ahead.

Nun: end of season. Still quite regular, just in time. Two or three more game days in quarantine, and probably some hard-boiled fans would have lost the desire, as many teams had lost in the past few weeks. Soberly speaking, the continuation of the season was a success or at least a successful loss limitation. TV money and thus some clubs were saved. The German example of a germ-free league operation is copied all over the world. It’s just not the kind of fame you’d have wished for German football this summer.

For the first time, a whole league played against relegation. He seems averted – at the expense of a missing person report, however. Where’s the soccer ball that we knew? Soccer with spectators? Football with passion, with emotional force? And, albeit a long time ago: Football with excitement in the championship?
