When you think of Adam Schefter, you think of an ESPN NFL insider. You don’t think of the fashion icon of the 80s. So far it is.

Shout Schefter for blessing us with that jewel of his and John Elway’s back then. The oversized yellow sweater with large triangles is a classic 80s preparation. Elway in the quasi-acid wash jeans is also a nice reminder of what life was like then. But the best thing about this photo is how much a fan-boy boss comes across. He has the widest smile in the world and meanwhile Elway looks like he’d rather be somewhere else in the world now.
It is easy to forget that prominent sports personalities like Schefter were actually just normal people at a certain point in time. In 1987, Schefter was still a student at the University of Michigan and Elway was in his fifth year as a Broncos and started QB. He actually took her to the Super Bowl that year. Schefter didn’t go into detail about how the two met or where the photo was taken, but it’s good to know that he killed the fashion game even then.
