Latvia’s leading boxer Briedis slaughtered Glovacki in the third round of “Arena Riga” on Saturday and won the World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion belt in the first heavyweight category (up to 90.7 kilograms), in addition, he also reached the final of the World Boxing Super Series. The course of the duel is evaluated controversially, because in the second round the Latvian responded with a strong blow to the elbow through Glovacka’s jaw after a blow to the back of the head. In addition, he slaughtered the pole for the second time after the end of the second round.
In a conversation with the portal “Przegladsportowy.pl”, Glovackis did not hide his disappointment with the outcome of Saturday’s fight, but he hopes to have another fight with the Deer.
“How do I feel about something that happened in Riga? The situation is bad, and also sad, because it shouldn’t have been. I was very angry about it all. What more can I say?” asked Glovackis, who only partially remembers what happened in the ring in the second and third rounds. “After the Deer hit me in the elbow, it was very difficult for me. After the second round, my ears rang thoroughly, but I don’t remember what happened after that. The jaw still hurts a lot. There is nothing amusing here. I can’t open my mouth wide and I can’t even speak normally. “

Glovackis believes that the deer’s blow to the elbow was a very important moment in Saturday’s fight.
“At the end of the round I went to my corner. The coach talked to me, but I didn’t hear anything. I couldn’t concentrate because there was a deep thorn in my ears. It wasn’t good,” said a Polish boxer who didn’t come to the press conference after Saturday’s duel. “I have no idea if I heard a signal about the end of the second round. After the bang on my elbow, however, my ears rang thoroughly.”
“Flawless Briedi happened if he eventually became the superseries champion and had a fight with me again. I really want that,” Glovackis emphasized.
The Polish athlete agreed that he had not acted “cleanly” by punching Briedis in the back of the head, after which he received his face with his elbow.
“It was a light blow to the back of the neck, in the heat of the fight, with a fist, not an elbow. I don’t deny it. I know what I did, but I’ve never experienced before when someone responds the way Deer did. I felt it on my skin. I will repeat it again – I want revenge, “the fighter was Glovackis.
After the fight, there was also a version that Glovackis had to stay on the floor after receiving a blow with his elbow. In that case, the judges should do something – maybe even disqualify Briedis.
“Of course I could have done it, but what would it look like? I had a ring in my ear, but I’m not the one to do it. I’m not doing that. I wanted the fight to continue, so I got up and kept boxing. I expected the round to end soon, but it wasn’t. Maybe I made the wrong decision, but I was just trying to be myself – in the ring dune to fight. “
However, it is not yet clear whether Briedis has really got a WBO belt, because he still has not physically received it, the representative of the athlete Raimonds Zeps confirmed on Monday.
It was previously planned that Briedis and Glovacki would also share the prestigious World Boxing Council (WBC) champion belt on Saturday, but this did not happen due to disagreements between the organization and the superseries organizers regarding the fighting judges.
In the final of the superseries, Briedis will meet with Cuban Junier Dorticos, who killed the American Andrew Tabiti in the tenth round in Riga, winning the International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion belt.
