Big NFL Name May Have COVID-19

The Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday placed the names of four players, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, on the list of athletes unavailable due to COVID-19.

The other roster affected are linebacker Vince Williams, offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins and running back Jaylen Samuels. They will all have to stay in isolation for five days and be tested negative for the coronavirus before reconnecting with their teammates.

According to ESPN, Roethlisberger has been in contact with a person who may transmit COVID-19 to him. He could play on the weekend if he is removed from the group of ineligible players on Saturday.

On Monday, tight end Vance McDonald had also seen his name on the list. A Steelers staff member grapples with the issue. The only undefeated team in the NFL this season, Pittsburgh faces the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
