Elite Competition and December Match Schedule
The Badmintonligaen serves as the top-tier competition for Denmark’s elite athletes, stretching geographically from North Jutland across Aarhus and Odense to the Greater Copenhagen area. Fans can catch high-level matches close up during upcoming rounds 5 and 6, scheduled for December 1 and December 3, 2026. Admission to these elite fixtures is free for spectators.
Additional elite action continues later in the month with the Women’s Badminton League, catering specifically to female competitors in Solrød on December 19 and 20, 2026. Ticket sales for the women’s showcase open soon.
Grassroots and Digital Participation
Beyond the elite divisions, the Racketour League offers opportunities for all badminton players, operating primarily around the Aarhus area. The format allows participants to play with and against individuals outside the formal club team tournament system without needing to represent a specific club.
For fans across the entire Kingdom of Denmark, Ligabadminton provides remote and casual engagement. A total of 94 users participated in the fourth round of the digital initiative, which allows users to create a free profile and play along from their living rooms or the bench behind the court.
Autumn and Winter International Tournament Window
The domestic schedule runs alongside a heavy international calendar spanning Europe and Asia. Recent and upcoming autumn highlights include the European Senior Championships in Cagliari, Italy, running from September 17 to 29, 2026, and the Asian Games in Japan featuring team events from September 20 to 24 and individual events from September 25 to 29, 2026.
The BWF World Junior Championships took place in Cairo, Egypt, from October 5 to 18, 2026, overlapping with the Arctic Open S500 in Vantaa, Finland, from October 6 to 11, and the European U15 Championships in Sotra, Norway, from October 7 to 10. The tour then shifted to Odense for the VICTOR Denmark Open S750 from October 13 to 18, followed by the French Open S750 in Paris from October 20 to 25.
Autumn fixtures also featured the HYLO Open S500 in Saarbrücken, Germany, from October 27 to November 1, the FZ FORZA Norwegian International in Sandefjord from November 5 to 8, and the VICTOR Irish Open in Dublin from November 11 to 14.
