Municipal officials in Trieste cleared a policy document on August 13, 2026, proposed by Sports Councillor Elisa Lodi, establishing a provisional concession of the PalaRubini to Pallacanestro Trieste through June 30, 2027. The approved framework includes an infrastructure running-cost support package totaling €630.607,58. Financial structuring details show that €130.607,58 of this sum is allocated to offset a matching rental fee estimated by Italy’s Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate) and adjusted for a concession period running under a full year. The remaining €500.000,00 serves as a current expense contribution.
Disbursement of the funding is scheduled in two equal installments: 50% due by December 15, 2026, and the remaining 50% by March 31, 2027, net of the rental fee deductions. Under the terms of the provisional agreement, all day-to-day facility management costs remain the responsibility of the club.
