The latest market value update across the Turkish Süper Lig reflects widespread downward adjustments for several of the division’s marquee acquisitions.

Injury History Drives Osimhen Valuation Drop

Transfermarkt market value administrator Sinan Yener pointed to physical setbacks as the primary catalyst behind the downward adjustment for Victor Osimhen. The 27-year-old missed 14 fixtures due to injury during the previous campaign and has already been sidelined for three crucial matches in the current season.

“One of the critical factors for the downgrade was his injury history and the number of matches he missed as a result,” Yener stated, adding that market assessments extend beyond simple pitch performance. “Our market values are not based solely on athletic output. Age, injury history, the standard of the league, the international transfer market, and a player’s general market situation all flow into the evaluation.”

Rafael Leão and International Market Demand

Rafael Leão experienced an identical 10 Mio. Euro reduction, falling from 50 Mio. to 40 Mio. Euro following his transfer to Galatasaray from Europe’s top-five leagues. Yener explained that the evaluation factored in both the initial transfer fee paid and the specific market conditions that developed for the Portuguese forward during the window.

While clubs such as Aston Villa monitored the situation, interest on the broader international market proved more subdued than in previous transfer periods, culminating in Leão’s move to Turkey. Analysts weighed the league’s competitive tier and actual market outlays when establishing the new figure.

Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe Absorb Largest Squad Value Deficits

At the club level, reigning champions Galatasaray recorded the largest total squad value reduction in the league, shedding 30,1 Mio. Euro overall. Fenerbahçe absorbed the second-largest drop at -19,7 Mio. Euro.

Conversely, several clubs posted gains in squad valuation during the update. Beşiktaş added +6,9 Mio. Euro, Kasımpaşa rose by +5,65 Mio. Euro, Samsunspor gained +5,53 Mio. Euro, and top-starting league newcomers Amed SK increased their overall squad value by +4,22 Mio. Euro.

German Professionals Experience Mixed Fortunes

Among German professionals plying their trade in Turkey, the update produced contrasting trajectories, featuring a prominent rising defender alongside downward adjustments for established names. Kerim Çalhanoğlu of Gaziantep FK registered the largest increase from a German perspective, more than doubling his market value from 300.000 to 700.000 Euro. The 24-year-old left-back, developed at Hoffenheim and previously with Schalke 04, SV Sandhausen, and Greuther Fürth, joined Gaziantep in July 2026 following a stint with NK Vukovar and recently appeared in four league matches in a row.

Additional upward revisions went to Fatih Kaya, who moved from SV Wehen Wiesbaden to Samsunspor and saw his valuation climb from 500.000 to 800.000 Euro after recording two goal involvements in his first three league appearances. Gökhan Gül of Amed SK rose from 1,3 Mio. to 1,5 Mio. Euro following a strong start by the surprising league leaders.

On the downward side, former DFB captain İlkay Gündoğan (Galatasaray) dropped by 500.000 to 1,5 Mio. Euro, while Kerem Demirbay (Kasımpaşa) slipped 200.000 to 800.000 Euro. Youssoufa Moukoko, who joined Çorum FK on loan from FC Copenhagen in early September, lost one million to stand at 4 Mio. Euro—marking his eighth downgrade over two and a half years from a previous career peak of 30 Mio. Euro. Davie Selke experienced a 1,3 Mio. drop to 1,5 Mio. Euro, representing the league-wide third-largest percentage decline.
