According to coverage from regional sporting outlets, the 38-year-old athlete from Voghera will miss the multi-sport gathering scheduled to run from August 21 to September 3.
Nespoli’s resume also features a team silver medal from the 2008 Beijing Games, establishing him across nearly two decades as an anchor of the Italian national squad.
