Head coach of “Kairata” Rafael Urazbakhtin shared opinion about 38-year-old Belarusian defender Alexander Martynovich.
— Which match in terms of quality was most satisfying in the Champions League?
— The match with Inter was of the highest quality. We have put together the optimal composition. At the end of the games, our guys dropped out and some players were missing. In the game with Inter, we could have grabbed a draw.
— At the same time, 38-year-old Martynovich plays consistently. How does he manage to continue performing at such a high level?
— It was with Inter that he was not there. In the last game of the championship he received serious injury – a muscle tear. I missed about a month. He is a great professional: he takes care of himself, nutrition, health, sleep.
Alexander does a great job. Perhaps genetics plays a role, but I don’t want to blame everything on that. To a greater extent, this is his work, awareness. I constantly tell young guys: “Walk around him with a notepad and pen – write down his every step,” Urazbakhtin said.
