The Abruzzo director Flavio Sciolè has been selected with his short ‘Destructur 70’ for the Bad Video Art Festival, a Russian film festival now in its eighth edition. Only about sixty shorts were selected, 6 Italian ones. This edition of the festival takes place in streaming on the VisualcontainerTV platform from January 29th to March 12th.
The curators of the Bad Video Art Festival, Natalia Monakhova and Andrey Slaschilin, propose to study the extreme forms of video art. For the first time ever, the concept of B-video will be presented to the public in the gallery to initiate discussion and further studies.
Past editions have taken place in Moscow, Georgia and one year in Italy. Sciolè already participated in 2019 (with the short film Dr Dystopia.
Flavio Sciolè’s work ‘Destructur 70’ shows a visual and human deconstruction, a disarticulation of the self rewritten with the codes of experimental cinema. The short, shot in 2019, was screened at Director’s Night – The Video Cafe (retrospective, UK, 2024) and at Flavio Sciolè: Anticodici Anticinematografici – Una Retrospettiva (Pescara, 2025).
It should also be noted that in January 2026 a retrospective was dedicated to him within the Lovely Bones Cinema Fest in Rome (curated by Lucio Massa).
