Romeo Lavia’s repeated injuries may have given rise to doubts about his future at Chelsea. But his new coach Liam Rosenior is definitely counting on him.
Roméo Lavia is having another difficult season at Chelsea. The talented Red Devil has only appeared 7 times this season in all competitions, and his last match dates from November 1st. Since then, after a sprain, Lavia has returned to training.
Upon his arrival at Chelsea, Liam Rosenior was clear: he is indeed counting on Lavia, whose repeated injuries are beginning to sow doubt regarding his future with the Blues. At a press conference this week, the Englishman insisted.
Rosenior looks forward to working with Lavia
“Romeo is incredible, he has the potential to be a world-class midfielder,” says Rosenior in comments relayed by Fabrizio Romano, among others. “His recent history has not been what he hoped.”
The Chelsea coach recognizes that he will now have to manage Roméo Lavia’s return to the field as best as possible, in order to avoid yet another relapse. “We need to make sure he’s fully fit. He still has a few steps to go before he can train fully,” Rosenior says.
“But I’m very much looking forward to working with him,” concludes the former Strasbourg coach, who arrived at Chelsea at the beginning of January.
