Balaguru K. Tennis Court Inauguration – Latest News

Sehore. The renovated tennis court of about 112 years old Sehore Club (old name Davis Club) was inaugurated on Sunday by Collector and Club President Balaguru K. It was done by cutting the ribbon in a simple ceremony.

While presiding over the occasion, club member Dr. Anees Khan said that two lawn tennis grounds have been renovated in the club. Both the Lawn Tennis Grounds were inaugurated today by District Collector and Club President Shri Bala Guru K. Inaugurated in the presence of members, distinguished citizens and intellectuals. This club was founded in 1914 by WS Davis, the then Political Agent of the British Government. The first flood light was installed in this court in 1956, which was the first in Madhya Pradesh. In 2006, with the successful efforts of the then District Magistrate DP Ahuja, Deco Turf Ground was dedicated here. In 2008, former District Magistrate Sandeep Yadav made a significant contribution in equipping the second ground with deco turf.

After this, the present District Collector Shri Bala Guru K. Both the Deco Turf Tennis Grounds were renovated and inaugurated. Many state level competitions have been held on this ground in the past. General Secretary of the club, Shailendra Pehalwan, who is an excellent player and coach. Who till now has carved many players with his art who are making their mark at the state and national level. The third generation of those players is also taking coaching from him even today. Many players have brought glory to Sehore in the game of tennis at state level and national level. Shri Shailendra Pehalwan has dedicated his entire life to sports. Today the District Magistrate also honored him for this achievement.

On this occasion, senior tennis player Dr. Kailash Aggarwal, club secretary Umesh Sharma, Dr. A.A. Qureshi, senior journalist Raghuvar Dayal Gohiya, Anil Paliwal, Kailash Aggarwal, Satish Sharma, Shailendra Singh Chandel, Teeny Tiwari, senior journalist Pradeep Chauhan, photojournalist Santosh Kushwaha, Yogacharya Suresh Babu Rathore, Rupesh Khare, Lokesh Srivastava, Dr. OP Mewada, Dr. Manoj Saxena, Habib Khan former army man, Dr. Aman Khan, Nikhil Ranpuria, Attaullah Khan, Laikbhai Ansari, Harishchandra Arya etc. were present. In the end, Umesh Sharma accepted the vote of thanks.
