US President Donald Trump will receive a special honor when the soccer world champion is crowned this summer. “No one is allowed to touch the trophy – except the winners and the US President, who has to hand over the trophy,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Thursday during a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos about the planned victory celebration after the World Cup final on July 19.
Infantino himself and the president of the co-host would carry out the honor in the final stadium in East Rutherford near New York, added the boss of the world association, who describes Trump as a friend.
