Ajax Exit: Player Reveals Future Plans

There is a good chance that Oliver Edvardsen is in his last months at Ajax. The Norwegian wing attacker was initially given a chance by interim coach Fred Grim, but since then playing time for Edvardsen in Amsterdam has been very scarce.

After two games, Edvardsen ended up on the bench. Afterwards, Grim allowed the winger only six minutes. The attacker, attracted for three million euros, draws conclusions in that context in conversation with ESPN.

“I’m pretty sure they are open to selling or renting me out,” sighs Edvardsen, who is keeping all options open for the near future. “It’s a difficult choice, we’ll see. It also depends on what comes next.”

Edvardsen had to get used to this season. The Norwegian is originally a left winger, but this year he mainly functions as a right winger. ”It takes a bit of getting used to, but I’m doing my best. On the left it happened naturally, now I may have to think a bit more.”

Does Edvardsen regret his move to Ajax in January 2025? ”I don’t want to call it that. Maybe sometimes a little bit,” the winger admits. A return to old love Go Ahead Eagles, Ajax’s opponent on Saturday, is not an option. “We haven’t spoken to each other.”

Edvardsen has nevertheless become attached to last season’s cup winner. “The last time I played there it felt a bit like a home game.”

The Ajax player has so far scored four goals in 28 matches in Amsterdam. In the shirt of Go Ahead, Edvardsen scored 26 times in 81 appearances.
