Hugh Jackman is in active discussions to acquire a stake in Norwich, opening the door to a potential sporting rivalry with Wrexham co-owner and fellow Marvel star Ryan Reynolds. The actor confirmed his interest to British sports radio broadcaster Talksport, noting that his maternal roots connect him to Norwich.

The cinematic love-hate dynamic between Deadpool and Wolverine could soon manifest on the pitches of the English Football League. Jackman, who portrayed Wolverine alongside Reynolds’ Deadpool on the silver screen, revealed that he is seriously considering a financial investment in the club.
«I’m very, very interested and I’m talking about it right now», Jackman told Talksport when asked about a potential venture into English football. The 57-year-old actor, born in Sydney, stated that his mother originates from Norwich, cementing a personal link to the Canaries.

Should Jackman finalize an ownership stake at Carrow Road, he would join Reynolds in the second tier of English football. Under the direction of Reynolds, the club achieved three consecutive promotions, climbing from the National League up to the second division starting from the 2022/23 season.
In 2023, Jackman attended a Wrexham fixture alongside Reynolds and actor Rob McElhenney, sparking initial speculation regarding his own football ownership ambitions. The Australian actor admitted he previously turned down an approach to invest in Norwich back in 2010.
