Netflix Expands Into Live Sports With Multi-Year NFL Broadcast Deal

Netflix has expanded its push into live sports broadcasting by securing a multi-year agreement with EverPass Media to bring NFL games to commercial establishments across the United States. According to official corporate announcements from both companies, the partnership establishes Netflix programming as a key fixture in bars, restaurants, hotels, and other out-of-home venues.

The deal builds on Netflix’s growing live sports portfolio, highlighted by its acquisition of Christmas Day NFL broadcasting rights. Under the multi-year arrangement, EverPass Media will distribute commercial feeds of Netflix’s live NFL slate to hospitality and entertainment businesses. This allows commercial venues to legally broadcast high-profile matchups to patrons without relying on standard residential streaming accounts.

EverPass Media, which launched in 2023 with backing from RedBird Capital Partners and the NFL, specializes in distributing sports and entertainment content to commercial businesses. The company holds exclusive distribution rights for NFL Sunday Ticket in commercial establishments across the country. Integrating Netflix’s live sports content into the EverPass network expands the platform’s commercial footprint beyond traditional Sunday afternoon telecasts.

Financial terms of the multi-year agreement were not disclosed by either company. Industry analysts view the pact as a strategic move for Netflix to monetize its sports investments beyond consumer subscription fees by capturing lucrative commercial licensing revenue from hospitality venues.

For venue operators, the agreement streamlines access to marquee NFL matchups airing on the streaming service. Rather than navigating separate commercial licensing agreements for individual streaming platforms, establishments utilizing the EverPass network can access the games through existing commercial distribution frameworks.

The partnership takes effect ahead of Netflix’s upcoming live NFL holiday broadcasts. Both companies indicated that additional live sports and entertainment programming distributed through EverPass could be incorporated into the arrangement as Netflix continues its expansion into live event broadcasting.
