Simeone Apology: Pérez & Vinícius Jr. Accepted?

Days after the confusion in the Madrid derby between Atlético and Real, in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup, coach Diego Simeone regretted his attitude towards Vinícius Júnior. On Thursday, during the game, he clashed with the Brazilian striker.

«The Florentine [Pérez] he will get rid of you, listen to what I tell you”, Diego Simeone said repeatedly at the game in Saudi Arabia.

«First of all, I would like to apologize to Florentino and Vinicius for the incident the other day. It wasn’t right and for that I want to apologize”, said Simeone this Monday.

“It wasn’t right of me to put myself in that situation and I obviously accept that I wasn’t right, I shouldn’t have said what I said. The team that wins is the one that deserves to go through, so there’s nothing more to add”, he added, not wanting to add any further comments after Xabi Alonso accused him of poor sportsmanship.

Simeone did praise Ansi Flick’s training. «Barcelona is in a very good moment, with a coach who has very clear ideas. It is a team that pursues a footballing idea and the result is clear in the trophies it is winning”, he highlighted.
