EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) positioned this Thursday the commissions that will direct the athletes of the fencing, modern pentathlon and surfing sports federations in the technical-administrative framework, which are suspended.
The commissions were formed by the executive committee of the COD, in the meeting held on December 18, 2025, where it was agreed to convene the members of each of them.
The swearing-in was carried out by engineer Garibaldy Bautista, president of the COD, who pointed out that the aforementioned commissions will be in charge of monitoring, technically and administratively managing the athletes of each of the aforementioned sports with a view to the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.
The fencing direction will be in charge of Major General (r) Elvis M. Félix Pérez, together with Aloida Sosa and Adrienne Portes.
While the modern pentathlon will be administered by Major General Army of the Dominican Republic Delio Buenaventura Colón Rosario, along with Richard Martínez and Radhames Kalaf.
Marcos Díaz assumes the surf direction, along with Amaury José Pla, Mario Viñas and Radhames Kalaf.
“These commissions will have the sole and exclusive function of managing and providing technical and administrative follow-up to the athletes of these federations with a view to preparing for the Central American and Caribbean Games,” said the president of the COD, according to a press release.
He added that “the executive committee has made the decision not to touch on the issue of elections and after the games the commissions will be analyzed.”
Engineer Bautista highlighted that each of the commissions has Radames Kalaf and Adrienne Portes, from the technical direction of the COD, as members.
Also present at the positioning meeting was Irina Pérez, from the COD executive, who pointed out that the commitment is to ensure the well-being and participation of the athletes in the games.
