Luis Díaz’s performance during 2025 was evaluated positively in different international sports portals after his transfer to Bayern Munich.
The Colombian striker, who arrived at the Bavarian club in the summer market after playing the first half of the year with Liverpool, was acquired for a total of 75 million euros, a figure that generated debate in the media about whether the investment was justified, according to what the international press reported in mid-2025.

After six months in the Bundesliga, the 28-year-old attacker dispelled initial doubts with goals, assists and outstanding performances that consolidated him among the figures of the German championship and the Champions League. Recent evaluations agree that Díaz’s performance lived up to high expectations.
In terms of recognition, the annual list of the best 100 footballers prepared by The Guardian placed Luis Díaz in position 31 for his work in Liverpool and Bayern Munich during the evaluated cycle. The ranking was headed by Ousmane Dembélé, followed by Lamine Yamal, while Vitinha took third place.
Among the arguments cited to support Díaz’s rise to the elite of European football, The Athletic noted: “Luis Díaz is another obvious option since he changed Liverpool for Bayern Munich. He was very expensive, but he has been very good.”
It should be remembered that the signing generated debate within the German club, where some sectors would have opted for local and younger footballers, such as Florian Wirtz or Nick Woltemade, as detailed Ace Diary. From the leadership, headed by Max Eberl, the commitment to Díaz was based on criteria of experience and maturity after his European career. A spokesperson explained to the media: “The experience and maturity that Díaz accumulates in Europe have turned him into an elite and top-level player, who appears as the greatest reference for Colombia in the world.”
The outstanding performance of Luis Díaz at Bayern Munich generated a debate about his possible signing for Real Madrid, driven by voices such as that of the Argentine journalist Juan José Buscalia, who described him as “the best left winger on the planet” during his intervention on the program Directv Total Football.
Buscalia’s proposal suggests that Díaz would be the ideal complement for Kylian Mbappé, current European scorer with 28 goals in 23 games in all competitions (EA Sports League, Champions League, Copa del Rey), and not a direct competitor like Vinícius Júnior, a footballer who occupies that position in the Spanish club.

Buscalia argued that Real Madrid should request Díaz as a reinforcement, especially due to the doubts generated by the team’s performance under the direction of Xabi Alonsowhich keeps the club in second place in the Spanish League, four points behind Barcelona, and in seventh position in the Champions League.
During his intervention, Buscalia emphasized that if he had the possibility of asking for reinforcements for Real Madrid, he would ask the former Liverpool player:
“I would ask for the best left winger on the planet, Lucho Díaz. He solves everything for you, he keeps getting rid of rivals. He’s going to get tired of scoring goals. The problem is over,” He made reference to the Colombian’s ability to solve Real Madrid’s offensive challenges.
The journalist also suggested that Mbappé should remain as a center forward, while Díaz would assist him from the left wing:
“Mbappé, leave him at 9, he was the Golden Boot and that’s where he’s going to be the Ballon d’Or. Put a guy to assist him, who doesn’t compete with Mbappé. Mbappé is the best center forward on the planet, yes. Put Lucho Díaz next to him,” he stated to the aforementioned media.
