The president Giuseppe Lombardi and the Giemme Antonello Nevola met the press today at PalaDelMauro to take stock of the 2025/2026 Unicusano Avellino Basket season and the year that is about to end.
The management expressed satisfaction with the recent results and invited the fans to participate in the match on Sunday 28 December against Scafati, a fundamental derby for the Avellino club’s path, with the aim of filling the PalaDelMauro.
Lombardi: “Saturday’s victory is an important step, satisfied with the results”
Lombardi underlined that the victory obtained last Saturday represents an important step in the team’s journey, stating:
“With Saturday’s success, we are starting to see the fruits of the work of this group in which we believe. We are satisfied and happy with what we have done so far. We have reached fifth place in the rankings and confirm our ambitions.”
Scafati objective: initiatives and public protagonists
The objective for the match against Scafati is to further convince the public.
“We trust in the city’s response, to strengthen this relationship of affection that the company is carrying forward,” Lombardi added. “We have promoted initiatives for this match and we want to fill our arena.”
Future ambitions: “We don’t want to settle”
The president also confirmed his ambitions for the future:
“We don’t want to settle, we can always do better and we hope to reach our goals.”
Nevola: “Competitive club, now we need everyone’s support”
Antonello Nevola, the General Manager, declared that the results are in line with expectations.
“Coach Di Carlo did an excellent job right from the start and the players gave important responses. The championship is very difficult, but we believe we can improve our level in the second part of the season.”
Competition with football and the Serie A dream: the vision of the club
Nevola also spoke about the club’s commitment, public response and future goals.
“We know that the local reality is complex, with football competition being a fundamental part of this province, but we can do more. The results must be a driving force. Our path has been fast and important: we achieved qualification for the National B in the first year of the reform, obtained promotion to A2 and played in the play-ins last year as newly promoted players. Looking to the future, our ambition is to restore the stage of Serie A to the city of Avellino, hoping to be supported by the public, institutions and fabric entrepreneurial.”
