Mexico City, December 12, 2025 – New Era presents together with the Tomateros de Culiacán and the artist colic Watchavato a unique collaboration where baseball, art, fashion and the Culiacán identity come together on the diamond. The Tomateros will debut for the first time an On-Field clothing designed and manufactured by the brand originally from Buffalo, New York and a leader in baseball in Mexico, which will be used exclusively by the team Cherry in the series against Tucson Baseball Team this December 12, 13 and 14.
Luis Manuel Romero, better known as Watchavato, recognized for his vibrant style and for reinterpreting symbols of Mexican popular culture with a modern vision, imbues these uniforms with his unmistakable seal. The result is a proposal that celebrates the energy, passion and character of the town coliccombining the visual force of art with the tradition and elegance that distinguishes the Tomateros novena. Every detail, from the strokes to the nuances of color, was conceived to reflect the intensity of the game, the dynamism of the city and the pride that comes with being originally from Culiacán, Sinaloa.
The collection features two On-Field uniforms that unite contemporary aesthetics with cherry heritage. The first, in tone sand with cherry and black detailsprojects elegance and strength. The sweater shows the wordmark “Tomateros” on the front, accompanied by dark piping on the neck and sleeves that balance the composition with a classic air. The pants of the same tone complete a clean and powerful ensemble, while the beige cap with the “TC” insignia in cherry color—framed by a pattern of black lines that evoke the distinctive lines of Watchavato.
The second uniform, completely black with metallic gold thread accentsis a statement of power and sophistication. On the front, the phrase “Culichi Rifa”, which has been the artist’s identity since he began his project more than 20 years ago, stands out in metallic gold, accompanied by trim of the same tone on the neck and sleeves that generate an elegant and forceful contrast. The black cap contains the traditional gold “TC” letter joint, reinterpreted in the Watchavato style and reinforces the premium aesthetic of this version.
The game collection is complemented with some pieces of Fan Gear, where we find dos t-shirts cotton: one in black and one in cherry. The first with the ‘T’ in front on the chest and on the back the phrase ‘Los Tomateros de Culiacán’ and a historical tour of the different logos of the ninth Guinda; the second with the legend ‘Culiacán, Sinaloa’ on the front, while on the reverse the large ‘TC’ predominates on the back, accompanied by the phrase ‘Orgullo Guinda, Orgullo Culichi’.
This drop, in addition to the Game Caps that match the uniform, also presents 6 Fan Gear caps: 4 models in 59FIFTY and 2 in 9Forty A-Frame. The first four present the aesthetics and graphics of Watchavato, in different base colors that contain different elements of the collection. The two designs in the 9Forty AF, one of New Era’s favorite curved silhouettes, feature a crown model cream white with a cherry visor, and the other, which is a must for the collection, it is a trucker totally black with visor and front faux leather which contain the ‘Culichi Rifa’ in 3D embroidery in gold metallic thread.
This alliance reaffirms New Era’s commitment to innovation and the identity of national baseball, promoting projects that integrate local creativity with the history and emotion of the sport.
For New Era, this launch means more than a new kit: it is a statement of belonging, a way to pay tribute to a historic club, its land and its unbreakable competitive spirit.
New Era continues to promote baseball in Mexico not only as a sport, but as a language of identity, creativity and local pride, reaffirming that art, fashion and baseball share the same passion: that of uniting people through the colors, emotions and stories that represent us.
