The Carabinieri of the Bianco station, in collaboration with the soldiers of the Labor Inspectorate Unit, carried out an inspection of a construction site in the aforementioned Reggio municipality. This activity allowed the military personnel to verify compliance with regulations regarding health and safety in the workplace and to combat the spread of the ignoble phenomenon of undeclared work. In particular, a company in the construction sector ended up under the magnifying glass of the Carabinieri which was found to be completely lacking in terms of safety in the workplace. The employer was reported to the judicial authorities due to serious violations regarding the protection of health and safety in the workplace. The military ascertained the presence of three “illegal” workers, applying the suspension of business activity and imposing criminal and administrative sanctions for a total of 16,700.00 euros.
The Carabinieri is always very attentive to safety in the workplace. For this reason, the Provincial Command of Reggio Calabria, with the fundamental help of the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate Unit, assiduously continues its control activity on construction sites throughout the province. The measures against the cited subjects were issued during the preliminary investigations and, therefore, the presumption of not guilt applies.
It is necessary to report that the principle of not guilty until definitively convicted applies to the man.
