Ghent New Year’s Fireworks & Celebrations 2024

Ghent residents can once again celebrate the transition from old to new with a dazzling show at Portus Ganda with fireworks, lasers, flame eaters and music. For the end-of-year campaign, TV maker Martin Heylen visits various house numbers 26.

Ghent residents who want to celebrate the new year together are welcome at Portus Ganda on December 31 from 11 p.m. for a dazzling show with images on a large screen and exciting music. The music builds up from 11:30 PM, and at midnight a 15-minute symphony of fireworks, lasers and flame-eaters starts. The public zone is again located on the Voorhoutkaai. As in previous years, these are low-noise, animal-friendly fireworks.

It will be a great moment to start the new year together.

Joris Vandenbroucke, alderman of Plezier

For the New Year’s campaign, various residents with house number 26 share their plans, wishes and dreams with all Ghent residents. Their stories can soon be read in the city magazine and on the city website. TV maker Martin Heylen also visits some house numbers 26. You can discover his stories on the City’s social media channels in early January.

I look forward to wishing everyone ‘ientse mé sugar’. May all Ghent residents make their dreams, big or small, come true.
