Battipaglia. Everything is ready for the VI edition of Atleta Battipaglia. The event, conceived by Dr. Paolo De Vita, director of the online sports site Spunti&Appunti.com, in collaboration with the lawyer. Carmine Galdi, director of the information newspaper Battipaglia1929.it, will also be sponsored this year by the BCC Campania Centro of Battipaglia and by the Cassa Rurale Foundation. The athletes from Battipaglia and the city clubs who have particularly highlighted themselves in 2025 will be rewarded. This year the formula also includes recognition for former athletes and for those who, in various capacities, have brought prestige to the city of Battipaglia in sport, with the awarding of plaques for merit, career and memory. Athlete from Battipaglia, who in five editions, the first dated 2019, has awarded 110 awards, 34 of which went to individual athletes (some award-winning), 13 to clubs (some award-winning), 11 awarded for career, 6 to memory, 5 to merit and as many to teams of the past, wants once again to offer a platform to those who carry the name of Battipaglia high, offering them different spotlights from those they are usually used to. On the occasion of the sixth edition of Athlete Battipaglia, new names, but also old acquaintances of our event, will parade in the conference room of the Hotel Palace. And here are revealed the 25 winners of the VI edition of Athlete Battipaglia, mentioned in strict order: • Agnese Frezzato (2nd place at the WABBA World Championships); • Alessandra Rocco (3rd place at the Under 23 European Judo Championships); • Miriana Galietta (1st place at the absolute regional tennis championships); • Claudia Galietta (1st place at the Lemon Bowl Under 18 international tennis tournament); • Mario Cesaro (football coach, lifetime achievement award); • Gennaro Bufano (football coach, lifetime achievement award); • Raffaele Califano (footballer for Battipagliese Boys, winner of the provincial title 1953-54); • Antonio Bovi (captain of Battipagliese Allievi, winner of the 1992-93 National Cup); • Andrea Masucci (1st place at the Italian Under 20 indoor shot put championships); • Roberto Orlando (1st place with the national team at the European Athletics Team Championships); • Antonio Di Palma (Italian record holder in the javelin throw, Under 18 category); • Giuseppe Rizzo (1st place at the Kettlebell Sports World Championships, half marathon snatch specialty); • Domenico Cavaccini (promoted to the SuperLega with Cuneo Volley); • Sante Garofalo (rookie referee in Serie A2 five-a-side football); • Antonio Siotto (1st place in the National Finals for regional representatives, Cadet category, team kata specialty); • Michele Grieco (1st place at the Italian Fight 1 Championships, 63 kg category); • Luigi Pippa (2nd place at the Italian university judo championships, 81 kg category); • Edoardo Vitale (28th place at the Under 17 World Championships in Greco-Roman wrestling); • Don Luigi Piccolo (with merit, for his commitment to young people through sport); • Santino Telese (footballer, runner, coach, sports manager, remembered); • Francesco Mango (sports manager and athletics referee, remembered); • Polisportiva Balnaea ASD (for the titles obtained at the Italian youth finswimming championships and for participation in the Italian youth swimming championships); • ASD Volleyball Battipaglia (9 times provincial youth men’s champion); • Tennis Club Battipaglia (promoted to the Serie B2 women’s team championship); • ASD Battipagliese Calcio (winner of the regional Junior championship and the Under 16 Silver Cup).
