Azzurra Provincials: Medal Success

Great successes and a rich medal list for the Polisportiva Azzurra Santa Marinella which, on the occasion of the Rome Province Badminton Championships, held in Santa Marinella, demonstrated the good level achieved by its athletes, both in the Senior and youth categories. The event saw the participation of a large group of athletes from the Polisportiva, who won a total of eight medals, raising the flag of the Roman coast high in the regional sports scene.

The results obtained, which range from gold to bronze, highlight the good work done, offering excellent growth prospects for the future of badminton in our area. The medal count of the Polisportiva Azzurra Santa Marinella includes the gold of Maria Grazia Italiano, who reached the top in the Senior Women’s singles and replicated the feat in the Senior Women’s doubles paired with Alessandra Tiburzi.

Tiburzi distinguished herself again, obtaining her second gold in the Senior mixed doubles together with Claudio Antimo Perfetto, sealing a triple domination in the Senior Women’s category. In the Under 17 category, the young athletes have shown that they are very promising. Diletta Brundu and Linda Carletti fought until the end, winning a precious silver in the women’s doubles. The balance was enriched with four bronze medals.

In the Senior men’s category, Luigi Iacomino took third place in the singles, also replicating the placing in the doubles paired with Andrea Baccalà. Finally, the youth academy completed the picture of podiums with Sara Tamagnini who obtained bronze in the Under 17 women’s singles, followed by third place in the Under 17 men’s doubles won by the pair formed by Christian La Rosa and Moreno Bondì.
