Brøndby Hall: New Floor Now Open!

Today, Badminton Denmark’s Elite and sports manager, Jens Meibom, together with the mayor of Brøndby Municipality, Maja Højgaard, could officially inaugurate Brøndby Hall’s new half-floor

CEO Peter Fabrin and sports director, Lars Balle Christensen from Team Denmark, Brøndby Hallen’s board, players and coaches could all enjoy the beautiful new floor, which has resulted in the number of badminton courts at the National Elite Training Center being increased from six to 11 courts.

“It’s very big that we now have a new floor. It’s a project I’ve been trying to get support and finances for for the last five years, so I’m very happy that it’s now been successful. We’re going from six to 11 courts, and that gives us completely new opportunities. Our training is our holy grail, and if we’re going to keep up with the biggest nations in the world, we need better training facilities. More courts provide better and more flexible training opportunities for the current the national team players, but also an increased opportunity to invite even more young talents to the National Elite Training Center. Finally, the new floor is of a completely different and better quality than the old floor, which was incredibly hard to train on. So we also hope that it will have a positive effect on reducing the number of overuse injuries among the players,” says Elite and sports manager Jens Meibom.
