PSG in Bilbao: Air Gap Causes Landing Incident

Some players must have had a big scare. This Monday, as they headed to Bilbao to play their 6th Champions League match against Athletic, the Paris Saint-Germain squad experienced a particularly eventful landing. According to RMC Sport, the Parisians’ plane went through an air gap, which caused some turbulence.

Arriving on the tarmac in particular would have been very difficult. The pilot would have been forced to turn the plane sideways before righting it at the last moment to land safely. A perilous but controlled exercise, everyone arrived safely at around 12:30 p.m.

The Parisians now have 32 hours to regain their senses and concentrate on their European match against Bilbao. Currently 2nd in the Champions League behind Arsenal, who performed flawlessly in the first five matches, Paris Saint-Germain can take a big step towards a place in the top 8 of the league phase, synonymous with direct qualification for the round of 16.

Athletic Bilbao is in 27th place with only four points in five games. Despite everything, the Basques remain on a great victory against Atlético Madrid in La Liga this weekend (1-0).
