BERKE ÖZER CRISIS IN THE NATIONAL TEAM
Turkish Football Federation announced that the national goalkeeper left the camp without permission. Berke Özer claimed that these statements did not reflect the truth.
In the statement of the Federation, “Berke Özer left the camp voluntarily and without the permission of our technical and administrative team, following our team’s return to Istanbul, citing the reason that he was not included in the squad for the Bulgaria match.” It was stated that this behavior was unacceptable.
Berke Özer also shared a written response:
“Before joining the National Team camp, I shared my pain and condition with our technical team and told them that if I was not going to be in the match squad, it would be better to undergo this process as treatment. When I saw the match squad, I realized how meaningless the conversations we had been having for days were and that the decision makers in my country’s team were not motivated to perform or win the player. On my return to Istanbul, I conveyed my thoughts to our technical team. Then, I left the camp of my own volition, with the knowledge and permission of the technical and administrative team.”
