Suara.com – AC Milan is starting to move quickly in an effort to strengthen its defense line ahead of the January 2026 transfer window.
Indonesian national team defender Jay Idzes, who appeared impressive throughout the first half of the 2025/2026 Serie A season with Sassuolo, is rumored to be the main target.
According to the Calciomercato report, Milan is taking serious interest in Idzes because his profile is considered to suit the team’s needs.
The 25 year old defender is 1.90 meters tall, strong in aerial duels, and comfortable on the ball.
Jay Idzes is considered reliable in build-up play from the back line.
Jay Idzes is also flexible because he is able to play in two defenders or three defenders, both as the main doorstop in the middle and in the outside defender position.
From the Milan camp, this interest has even been realized in concrete steps.
Italian journalist, Luca Cilli, revealed that the Rossoneri management had made initial contact with the player’s representatives.
Even so, Milan has not submitted official talks to Sassuolo because it is still in the exploration stage.

Idzes himself has become one of Sassuolo’s pillars this season. His presence is considered very important for the club’s efforts to maintain consistency in Serie A.
Sassuolo recruited Jay Idzes with a relatively cheap payment compared to the quality he showed.
Sassuolo only spent eight million euros to activate Venezia’s permanent option.
This figure is relatively small if you look at Idzes’ rapid increase in a short time.
Before wearing the Venice uniform, the Dutch-born player was bought from Go Ahead Eagles for only 750 thousand euros.
Now, after half a season of stable performance under the pressure of Serie A competition, his market value is predicted to be close to 10 million euros and has the potential to rise even higher.
