The Burkinabè Basketball Federation, in collaboration with Tovio, organized on Saturday December 6, 2025, two gala matches, All-Star Game, on the Yegueré sports arena.
In front of a mostly young audience, the basketball stars of the city of Bobo-Dioulasso in Ladies and Men, “set fire” on the Yéguéré sports arena. On a lawn completely renovated by the clothing and sports equipment brand, Tovio, the players who continue to mark the history of Bobolese basketball found themselves on the floor. Between emotions, actions and passion, these gala matches were more than a sporting event: a real treat. The initiative is from the Burkinabè Basketball Federation (FBB) and Tovio, which recently opened its store in Bobo-Dioulasso. According to Souleymane Yaméogo, president of the FBB, the spectacle was there. “Following the inauguration of the Tovio store in Bobo, we had discussions to organize an All-Star Game in collaboration with the Houet basketball district. Mr. Vio, founder of the brand, was kind enough to support us, not only by financing the organization of the tournament, but by applying resin to this board. he explains. The All-Star tournament brought together the best Bobo players and the public was treated to two great gala matches. First the match with the Ladies which ended in the victory of the Greens over the Whites (21-10) and then with the Men. This opposition ended with the victory of the Whites over the Greens (47-33). “There was a great show, that’s what we’re asking for. Tovio is ready to support us, and especially to support young Bobolese sportspeople for their development in terms of playing the ball. So this is an opportunity for me to thank the district, to thank all the partners who are working to restore the basketball boards. All this offers playing comfort to our athletes. This is what we need. Institutional support and support from private partners, why not external ones, to enable us to further boost our discipline,” underlines Mr. Yaméogo.
Feed your passion
The president of the FBB is delighted with the fact that the discipline is practiced almost everywhere in all regions with an increase in numbers. “We have potential. We just need this support to move forward, because we need to take part in the African games. Seeing how this competition unfolds, we can be convinced that basketball has a future in the land of honest men. he assures. The country currently has 39 clubs, and there is competition. “We had a reference at the 3-on-3 level, where we went to take part in FIBA games, and we placed 3e. So these are already benchmarks, they are tracks. We will prepare for the U18 tournament in 5 against 5. Burkina Faso will have its say,” he promises. On behalf of Tovio, Myriam Thiombiano, sales agent, invited the population of the town of Sya to take a trip to the Tovio store, located right next to the Sangoulé Lamizana stadium, to discover quality items, whether for basketball or any other sport. “You will find everything you need to fuel your passion.” she says.
