Approximately fifty beds for university students will be created in an unfinished part of the former Boario field, to be precise in what, in the initial plans, was supposed to house a supermarket whose entrance faces the baseball field. The workers at work on the pavement of part of the structure in Piazza Pizzarello have not gone unnoticed: in the next few days the intervention will begin which will allow the supply of student beds to be increased over time. An entrepreneur took over ownership of the area – which was not part of the bankruptcy – and thus decided to make an investment in university accommodation. Then the structure could be rented or sold to the regional body for the right to education (Erdis); in a certain sense, the operation carried out with the former Claudiani hotel with which Erdis signed a ten-year lease could be repeated. For the Municipality of Macerata it is good news that these works are taking place, which will give a new face to that part of the property, in the hope that this intervention will encourage the arrival of other investors. A first step to resolve the age-old problem of unfinished construction, with work at a standstill for years. In the initial forecasts, that project should have represented a flagship with shops, offices, apartments and garages, but after years there is only a reinforced concrete skeleton.
