Lewis Hamilton won a chaotic Grand Prix in Tuscany on Sunday and extended his lead at the top of the Formula 1 Drivers Championship.
Reigning champion Hamilton finished the race ahead of his Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas and took his 90th F1 victory in a race that was only finished by 12 drivers. This enabled the Briton to achieve Michael Schumacher’s record within one victory.

The Australian Daniel Ricciardo missed the golden chance of a podium place on one day with two red flags.
The Renault driver shot into second place at the third start of the race, but couldn’t hold himself back and slipped behind Red Bull’s Bottas and Alex Albon to finish fourth.
Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly both retired on the first lap, and at the rolling start that followed Carlos Sainz, Kevin Magnussen, Antonio Giovinazzi and Nicholas Latifi had to retire in a four-car pile.
That brought with it the first red flag of the race – an interruption during which Esteban Ocon retired due to an overheated brake.
This was not the last interruption as Racing Point’s Lance Stroll suffered a serious accident after a puncture. That brought the second red flag of the race – and the third on two race weekends in F1. Stroll was the eighth and last driver to retire from the race.
