The AFL will announce that their holy day 2020 will have a new home. The grand finale will be held at the Gabba in Queensland.
And while this is far from the ideal situation for the AFL, there are rumors that they will take the opportunity to assert themselves against their competition.
“The AFL has been talking about obtaining databases of rugby league fans in Queensland,” said Peter Badel of Courier Mail on NRL 360 on Tuesday.

“They want to use the AFL Grand Final as a stepping stone to kidnap the Queensland NRL, steal rugby league fans and steal the hearts and minds of the local people.
“And with the NRL wavering as it expands and the Broncos fighting, this is a crucial time for the AFL to strike and they believe they are ready to do so through the AFL Grand Final.”
NRL 360 host Ben Ikin was puzzled: “Certainly there won’t be anyone in rugby league giving their database,” he said.
“That will find out [be] a total war. “

Badel agreed, but added, “The NRL is certainly not going to turn it around. But there are people in and around the game; Event management companies running corporate events for the AFL Grand Final in Queensland so they have databases.
“So don’t be surprised if the AFL tries to get them cleverly in the coming days and weeks.”
The AFL commission accepted the league’s recommendation on the venue and start time of the Grand Final. A night game at the Gabba is expected to be announced on Wednesday.
“Very strategic from the AFL,” joked Ikin. “Almost bordering on evil.”
Australian Brent Read added: “What do you expect from them? I’m not worried about the AFL. How long have you been trying to take over Queensland? And they barely made a dent. I mean good luck. “
