PSG-Celtic: the ultras well present at the Park, the Minister threatens to go behind closed doors

PSG and the Ultras Paris Collective (CUP) have increased contacts in recent days to get out of the controversy arising from the last match against Waasland-Beveren on Friday (7-0). During this evening, several hundred ultras had gathered at the bottom of the Auteuil Virage without respecting the distance or the wearing of the mask. The images had sparked strong reactions, in particular from the National Association of Professional Sports Leagues.

As Romain Mabille indicated in an interview with our newspaper, the CUP will again be present in “his” stand this Tuesday against Celtic Glasgow (7 p.m., BeIN Sports 1), with the will to respect the sanitary measures intended for prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The meeting will be followed with particular attention by the Ministry of Sports, which issued a press release on Monday evening.

Roxana Maracineanu, the Minister Delegate, announces that she has met Florence Hardouin, Director General of the FFF, and Nathalie Boy de la Tour, President of the LFP. “The Minister has […] notified the Federation and the League that closed-door decisions could be taken […] if the measures intended to combat the spread of the virus are not respected during the next matches. The press release specifies that “the Parisian club has informed the authorities and the public authorities of reinforced measures” during the match against Celtic.

Indeed, on the model of the end of the meeting against the Belgians, the ultras will be distributed at the top and bottom of the turn and not gathered. Some seats will be covered with tarpaulins to mark the distance. PSG will strengthen the presence of stewards responsible for enforcing the rules and the CUP leaders, who were not all present at the end of last week, should be on site to ensure the application of the rules.

The PSG requests the wearing of the mask permanently in the stadium, which had most often not been applied last Friday, regardless of the stand. The personnel of the Parc des Princes will be responsible for ensuring the application of this measure, while the displays and messages broadcast on giant screens will be further strengthened.

On the side of the club as that of the ultras, we show a certain confidence in the good progress of the evening. For the ultra Parisians, eager to send a few messages to the team and to certain players like Thiago Silva, this will be the last meeting of the season in the spans.

They have decided not to go to the Stade de France for the finals of the national cups, while the Final 8 of the Champions League will take place behind closed doors, as will the last friendly match at the Parc des Princes on August 5 (in finalization course against a Ligue 2 team).
