NBPA works with the clothing brand Russell Westbrook to create an exclusive shirt collection for players

The National Basketball Players Association has partnered with Russell Westbrook’s clothing brand Honor the Gift to design 10 different jerseys for Orlando players.

The exclusive players’ jersey collection was developed to enable players to “illuminate social injustice and honor the victims and families of those who continue to inspire us”.

On the front of each shirt is “We Honor” with the names of people who have died of social injustice in recent years: Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Michael Brown, Terence Crutcher, Sandra Bland, Pamela Turner , Tamir Rice and Ahmaud Arbery.

On the back of each shirt there is one of the following messages: Systemic Racism, Police Reform, I Can’t Breathe, No Justice, No Peace, Break the Cycle, Strange Fruits, By All Means, Power For People, Equality And Am I Next?

Westbrook, who serves as creative director for Honor the Gift, said his company was “extremely proud” to be working with the NBPA on this project.
