Union has been doing very well for two seasons. Since promotion to the first division, they have been at the top of the rankings.
One of the absolute strongholds among the people of Brussels is Teddy Teuma. The 29-year-old captain has been playing at a very high level for two seasons. He has a contract with Union until the summer of 2025.
On Monday, Union CEO Bormans was a guest at Extra Time. There he talked about a possible departure of the Maltese. Teuma would have already complained about his relatively low salary, given his level: “We are not a top club.”
“If Teuma says: ‘I am the best player in Belgium and I deserve the best contract’, then I agree with him”, says Bormans. “But he’s not going to get that with us. It would be mismanagement to hand out big contracts now.” Will a top club strike?
