It has been known since last summer: Cristiano Ronaldo (37) wants to leave Manchester United. Now it could actually be goodbye in winter. This is reported by the English “Telegraph”.

As the newspaper writes, coach Erik ten Hag (52) is ready to let the superstar, who still has a contract until 2023, go if there is an acceptable offer.

Ronaldo’s goal in the summer was to definitely switch to a club that plays in the Champions League. Adviser Jorge Mendes (56) offered the Portuguese at numerous top clubs for this transfer. But there has only been serious interest from Saudi club Al Hilal and Manchester United have so far refused to transfer Ronaldo. That attitude has now changed, writes the Telegraph.

Under the Dutch coach, Ronaldo hardly plays a role at United. His only starting XI appearance in the league was in the 4-0 defeat by Brentford in August, since then he has kicked in just 80 minutes as a substitute in the Premier League.

At the weekend in the 6-3 defeat against Manchester City, Ronaldo only sat on the bench for the full 90 minutes – allegedly “out of respect for his great career”as ten Hag then explained.

Now he can continue this great career at another club. If there is a suitable offer….
