“Bitter defeat” for Saint-André, judging that he “missed too many things to win”

The MHR manager delivers his analysis after the setback against Toulouse on Sunday, during the 5th day.

Philippe Saint-André (manager of Montpellier, beaten 19-17 at home by Toulouse) : «It’s a bitter defeat after a match full of rhythm. We wanted to win our home games, validate this start with a victory and take first place. Toulouse was more efficient and pragmatic than us. He does 100% in his attempts. We missed too many things to win. We lacked too much precision, technical accuracy and we lost too many balls in conquest. We came across a great team from Stade Toulousain, whose discipline surprised me.

There is bitterness, especially since the stadium was full and there was a great atmosphere. We play better rugby than last year at the same time. We forgot too many points to win this game. We forget a complete test. If we make the right gesture, we score the third try. It’s been two years in a row that we start the match in front of Toulouse being led by seven points.»
