England national soccer player Jude Bellingham received a lot of praise in the British media after beating Germany 3-3 at Wembley Stadium.

Although there were doubts about the World Cup form of the Three Lions, who were relegated to bottom of the table in the Nations League group, Bellingheim convinced the critics. “A ray of hope after the draw – and the defeat against Italy on Friday in Milan – was the performance of 19-year-old midfielder Jude Bellingham,” said BBC Sport in praise of the Borussia Dortmund player.

Bellingham was “full of energy and quality” in both games. “It’s fitting that he won the penalty for England’s third goal,” wrote the Daily Mail. Bellingham “plays like a veteran and has never stopped pushing his side forward”.

The British media, on the other hand, didn’t take kindly to defender Harry Maguire, whose clumsy foul on Jamal Musiala was penalized by Germany and who didn’t look good for England’s second goal either. “It was the performance of a player who had lost faith and was vulnerable,” the Telegraph said. BBC suggested coach Gareth Southgate should not take Maguire for the time being: “It’s gotten to a point where it’s not good for the player to hold on to him.”
